I love the Modified Emily Ocker in Simple Socks Plain and Fancy even more for these starts. This is going to be beautiful.

Oh.. now I read this aftercasting on a circular shawl. I feel like I cheated with crocheting my starting round, but it worked for me. However it was the dps that gave me fits, with twice dropping an entire needle, with a resulting mess that left me no option but to start all over. I am now happily on round 19 on 16" circulars, I look forward to my longer ones soon. I am doing the spiral shawl from A Gathering of Lace, the red version, I am using Skacel Merino lace in white.

Ooh Australia! Sheep-related trip, or just a holiday?

Thanks for the cast on tip. I've just started on my first lace project and I've been eyeing up some circular stuff for later...

Xena is my 8-year old Pomeranian. She is with me all the time with the exceptions of trips to countries with pet quarantines. So, I have lots of opportunities to take photos of her!
