I am so glad to be home!! Knit Picks fans will be thrilled to see our new yarns next year but I am still really glad to be home.
I have bad news and good news. Bad news, no photos from the trip. I struggled with altitude sickness the entire time and it took everything I had to focus on the vendor meetings. Good news, I had a wonderful time knitting socks during the entire trip.
Our trip down to Peru started in Portland, Oregon at 6:00 am. Yes, I slept for awhile but I pretty much knit and listened to my iPod the rest of the day. I finished a sock just as we were landing in Lima. Not bad. My attempts at the second sock were not great due to oxygen deprivation. Simple things like heel flaps and turning were way beyond me. I ended up pulling the two-color sock off the needles and casting on a pair of very simple hand dyed socks. Much better!
Security in Lima when we headed be home wanted to take away my knitting needles. After calling for the supervisor and the representative of American airlines, the squad finally decided it would be better to let me keep my needles. I was beginning to have a meltdown. We are talking 12 hours of flying with no knitting!!
Things have been very crazy since we got home on Saturday. I have two and a half weeks to get the next catalog to the printer. Then, two weeks in Hawaii!!
Bob's finally ready to head home for the night. We are having a little bit of snow up at our house so it will be wonderful to put on flannel pjs and knit all evening.
