A friend of ours from Australia sent us a bottle of wine that actually has flakes of gold floating in it! We had planned on serving it for New Year's but it was so pretty we couldn't open it up.
We had the Ontkean's over for New Year's Eve. Their son, Chris, brought a friend and the two of them disappeared downstairs with their electric guitars. They did surface for dinner which was prime rib, cheesy cauliflower, mustard/maple syrup green beans and baked apple for dessert.
The routine in our house is that Bob cleans up the kitchen after dinner. If we have guests, the men clean up while the ladies relax. Mike and Bob in the kitchen was a little scary but nothing was broken so I was grateful!
While the guys cleaned, I showed off the finished baby blanket.
Cindy has a very busy life and I think it caught up to her after dinner. Once Xena curled up with her, they both fell sound asleep.
Xena seems to have the same gift that our Siamese Cats have. DH says there is nothing like a warm cat to put him right to sleep!

I really laughed at the men cleaning up part. My husband and I have that same routine. After a dinner party with close friends one night the 3 men cleaned up. The next day I found napkins in the microwave, an empty basket in the fridge, and coffee cups in the oven. What a great group of pals I have!!

Ahhh-the dreaded sleep pet!! Not all pets can qualify, but I see Xena has those very special qualities :)

Yay for the Moderne being done. Gorgeous! My dog has tried to kick the needles out of my hands so she can fall asleep in my lap. :)

I have to admit that I read your blog to see pictures of Xena as much as I do to read about knitting! I have a terrible weakness for very fluffy little dogs. And your blanket looks gorgeous, congrats!
